There are several reasons why we ought to strive for English proficiency (meaning that we have to improve on our speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills on the subject): (1) it's our fastest ticket to the greatest jobs around and to the most fantastic careers available; (2) it's the language that 49 percent of the world population is using and it's located in all five geographical continents, which means that we could be effective communicators when paired up with other nationalities; and, (3) it's fun!
